五、连写句

连写句（run-on sentence）是指两个分句之间本来应该用分号、句号断句的地方没有使用适当的标点，而是使用逗号进行连接，或不加任何标点就把两个句子写在一起，例如：

1. CharlesDickens created the character of Mr. Micawber, he also created Uriah Heep.

2. EliasHowe invented the sewing machine, Julia Ward Howe was a poet and socialreformer.

3. Thefans rose in their seats, the game was almost over.

以上这些句子是病句，我们可以通过以下方法修改：

第一种方法：使用句号，创造两个独立的句子；

1. CharlesDickens created the character of Mr. Micawber. He also created Uriah Heep.

2. EliasHowe invented the sewing machine.Julia Ward Howe was a poet and social reformer.

3. Thefans rose in their seats. The game was almost over.

第二种方法：使用分号，创造一个并列句；

1. CharlesDickens created the character of Mr. Micawber;he also created Uriah Heep.

2. EliasHowe invented the sewing machine;Julia Ward Howe was a poet and social reformer.

3. Thefans rose in their seats; thegame was almost over.

第三种方法：使用and, or, but,nor, for, so, yet等并列连词，创造并列句；

1. CharlesDickens created the character of Mr. Micawber, and he also created Uriah Heep.

2. EliasHowe invented the sewing machine, andJulia Ward Howe was a poet and social reformer.

3. Thegame was almost over, so hefans rose in their seats.

第四种方法：使用关系代词、关系副词、从属连词，创造复合句。

1. Thefans rose in their seats because the game was almost over.
