内容提要:培养学生创新精神与实践能力,是人的个性发展价值的需要。也就是说,创新与实践,可以使个性得到充分的张扬。创新和实践的最终目的,是使学生的人格得到塑造,使学生获得生命的全部意义。改变学习方式的根本意义,是为了培养学生的创新精神。在整个教学过程中,老师的教似乎不是显得很突出,更多的是引导学生去思考,去体验,这样才会有所发现、有所得,才有利于培养学生的创新性和创新能力。因为面对同样的问题,学生中会出现各种不同的思维方式,产生不同的结果。

案例背景
著名的未来学家托夫勒指出:工业社会的特点是标准化,而信息社会的特点是多样化和个性化。从某种意义上说,个性与创新总是相伴而生,学生个性得到张扬的时候创新潜能才能开发出来。自主的根本目的是张扬个性,个性是创新的前提。

T: Do you want to be a person like Lin Feng? Why or why not?
(给学生充分的讨论时间)
S1: Yes, I think we must protect and improve our environment.
S2: I agree with her. It’s our duty to do it.
S3: Yes, we must make a contribution to making good environment.
T: How clever you are! Any other ideas?
S4: No, I don’t. I think the work is too hard.
S5: The life is very bad, and we can’t make much money.
S6: We must have a good environment. We need some people like
Lin Feng.
T: Terrific!
S7: I don’t think so. We can do it in other ways. For example, I want to be a businessman. I will make much money. With it, I can help some people like Lin Feng to do it better.
T: Good idea!
S8: I agree with him. We can make contributions to protecting and improving environment in many ways.
……
T: We hope the environment will be better than before after we work hard. Do you think the environment in Xiyang is good enough?
Ss: No.
(考虑到学生的已有知识和经验的限制,可以用一些比较简单的问题导入:What things can harm the environment in Xiyang? 从学生的身边事件和生活入手,容易激起学生的兴趣和积极性。)
T: Can you give some suggestions on how to improve the environment in Xiyang?
First, let’s discuss in a group of 4. After 2 minutes, report your ideas to the class.
( 学生们以小组形式热烈讨论,组长作好笔记)
T: I think time’s up now. Who will start first?
S1: Don’t cut down trees. Plant more flowers.
T: Good.
S2: Don’t spit in public places. Don’t draw on the walls.
T: Wonderful!
S3: Keep the air clean! There are too many factories here. Move them out of Xiyang.
T: Great!
S4: Make less public noise.
T: That’s true. Everyone enjoys a quiet environment.
……
T: Thank you for your ideas. Of course, we believe if our town takes your advice and soon great changes will take place. Don’t you think so?
Ss: Yes!
T: Good, today we did a good job.
